Over the past 22 years, I have navigated and ultimately overcome a series of severe and compounding injuries—including patellofemoral knee dysfunction, separated shoulders, a subluxed rib, and early-stage hip arthritis. This lived experience became the foundation of my expertise. Through rigorous study and disciplined application, I developed a highly specialized approach to resolving chronic pain and restoring full physical capacity. Today, I guide discerning clients from dysfunction to durable, high-level performance—and, in many cases, to elite conditioning.
While I have trained relatively few elite competitive athletes, every athlete I trained reached the highest levels of their sport. That outcome is not accidental. It is the result of a system built on precision, balance, and deep respect for how the human body actually functions.
From Medical Exercise to Somatic Mastery
I began my career as a medical exercise specialist, working with injury, pathology, and rehabilitation. Over the years, I expanded and refined those techniques into a far more powerful system—Somatic Exercise Education, known as Soma-X.
Soma-X moves people across the entire fitness spectrum:

My Story: Why This Works
By age 11, I required medically supervised weight loss. The doctor said he’s wire my mouth closed and put me in the hospital if I couldn’t get the weight off. I eventually succeeded—and in the process became an expert in fat loss mechanics.
There is no mystery to fat loss. The human body is a biological system. When the strategy is correct, weight comes off. I know this because I live it.
I was also born with significant congenital muscle imbalances. As a child, I walked with my feet sticking out and was mocked for it. As an adult, those imbalances manifested as a decade of injuries affecting nearly every joint in my body.
Using Soma-X principles, I have personally reversed:
- Hip osteoarthritis
- Patellofemoral knee syndrome
- Tennis elbow
- Chronic low-back pain dating to age 16
I have two separated shoulders (Grade II and Grade I), which forced me to become an expert in functional shoulder strength. After a Grade II separation in late September, I was deadlifting again by Christmas.
Today, I move without pain—and train at an high level.

One particularly meaningful case involved Maria Skelly, who lived with Little’s Disease (a form of cerebral palsy) and spent 12 years bedridden on high-dose pain medication, including methadone. Within six months of Soma-X training, she was drug-free and pain-free. Maria later authored The Pilot Light Effect to document her transformation.
